A TRUTH, JUSTIN, AND THE AMERICAN WAY PREVIEW
by Jennifer Contino (Pulse)

We've got a preview from Truth, Justin and the American Way creators Scott Kurtz and Aaron Williams of this upcoming Image limited series. They said they were influenced by '80s television and more ...

From creators Scott Kurtz and Aaron Williams:

A lot of people our age have a problem sharing our “culture” with our youthful contemporaries. I mean, how can “The A-Team” compare with “Alias?” Why would kids love Lou Ferigno’s “The Hulk” when they have Ang Lee’s “The Hulk?” Clearly, the glory that was the '80s was still there, but it needed some polish. That’s when Scott and I set about to revive it in a form that today’s comic reader would enjoy, no matter what their age. Enter Justin J. Cannell. We made him an affably aimless guy, at a critical stage in his life: He’s about to get married, he’s promised to stop hanging out with his loser friends, and he’s going to be more responsible … right after his bachelor party. Throwing in a stolen alien super-suit, relentless federal agents, and a maid of honor determined to bring the wedding to a screeching halt helped make this the PERFECT classic TV show that never was.

And let me add that as clear as our vision of this project was, it became just a blurry drawing on a napkin when Giuseppe Ferrario started drawing it. He brought out the heart and soul of Justin, refining it more than we could have dreamed. The art is fantastic and enhances our story beyond measure!

We can only hope it one day graces a Justin-themed lunchbox (with thermos).
