Review:

Just got a surprise package from the US comics publisher Image Comics. The package includes a couple of comics and tpbs.

Upon checking out the items, my eyes quickly catches the uber-cool cover of Ultra #1 (which is similar to the TIME or Newsweek magazine cover).

Once I turned to the first page of the comics i already got a feeling that this title will be gonna something special. And after finishing the last page, my initial expectation was even surpassed.

ULTRA is very much like the HBO tv series Sex & the City with a dash of superhero element.

The story is about 3 women/superheroines, who were doing some R&R, decided to have their future checked via local fortune teller. The fortune teller gives each of them their predictions. One will loose something, one will receive something and the last one will find true love. It is on this last prediction that the series revolves on.

As for the art, it is quite refereshing/"cool" on the eye. I especially liked the soft colors being displayed here. The characters also have their own distinct features. And the cover(s), man, it is just AWESOME!!! I mean YOU REALLY CAN'T MISS this book among the hoardes of comics released cause of its very eye-cathcing covers.

So PLEASE - I beg of you - do yourself a favor and just passover the latest issue of xmen or batman or superman crap that was released this week and buy ULTRA coz this comic is the next big thing!
