Review:
Join Jesse (The Preacher), his hit
man girlfriend and his Irish vampire best friend on
a quest across America
to search for God who resigned his post in Heaven.
You see, God is afraid of Jesse since a demon/angel
hybrid spirit possessed him. And because of that spirit,
Jesse now possess the Word of God
. anything he
commands, that person will do it.
During their quest, they will meet the oddest and
most colorful types of people ever imagined. There's
the Saint of Killers who was awakened by the Angels
to stop Jesse hounding God and Herr Star who is the
leader of an occult group that is preparing for the
second coming of Christ.
Don't be fooled by the religious subject matter of
the book.
This is actually one of the GREATEST love stories
you'll ever read in your life.
The religious nature of the title is just the backdrop.
Actually, Preacher has something for everybody. There's
a love story, horror, humor, action, and sex. Now that
I've mentioned it, this book has also some of the most
violent scenes in comics. So I should warn you that
if you're easily offended by gratuitous sex and violence,
better skip this book. But if you could ignore these
hiccups then get ready for a wild roller coaster ride
of a story.
