Review:
Yap I know its hard to believe that such genre can
be properly executed in comics. Movies or video games
or prose definitely but horror in comics.
But TRUST my word, you haven’t seen the craftsmanship
Junji Ito has poured into this little title.
Actually the basic premise of UZUMAKI is the locals
in a small isolated town in Japan are going crazy one
by one because of spirals. Yap those same spirals that
we see everyday. The idea in UZUMAKI is sooooo simple
that you could not conceive how in the world could
I be frightened of spirals, right?
Well, JUST TRY OUT the book and read it for yourself.
And while you’re at it, try reading it alone
in the middle of the night in an isolated room. And
if UZUMAKI didn’t at least raised the hairs at
the back of your neck then I deeply apologize to have
wasted your time.
But for people who likes the The Twilight Zone (t.v
series) or Stephen King books or any Alfred Hitchcock
movies, UZUMAKI is a must read!!!
