Review:
Ever wonder what the %#$* are the X-men all are afraid
of?!! Prejudism? How can they be afraid of prejudism?!!!
Coz if you look at the movie version of Wolverine (Hugh
Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry) or Cyclops (James Marsden)
they all look like they're ramp models.
Well anyways, INHUMANS is about a
group of "mutants" who
are not afraid to show the world of how they look or
what their "gifts" are. You see the children
of Attilan (isolated island where all Inhumans live)
are born normal that is until there are subjected to
the Terrigen Mists when they reach a certain age. This
special gas initiate the change in their physiology
and bring out their special "gifts". Those
children not transformed by the mists (those who remain
abnormal) will be transferred to the lower levels of
the kingdom where they work as slaves.
Pretty cool huh?! It seems cool at first having cool
powers and the fact the you don't have to hide your
true self everytime mom tells you to buy a can of mushroom
soup at the convenience store. But when this pesky
humans decides to attack Attilan because of some national
security bull$#!&, then being Inhumans is
not very cool at all. And if you're an Inhumans living
in Attilan, i'll be more nervous coz of the fact you
cannot undstand
your great king, Black Bolt, since if he even opens
his mouth he can destroy everything!
So aside from a great premise, you also get VERY gorgeous
dark/moody art from the great Jae Lee!!!
If you are having second thoughts on giving this book
a try... DON'T!!!! Go ahead get the book coz its worth
every penny.
Other works:
Sentry, Origin
of Wolverine, Peter
Parker: Spider-man,
