So by now you’re scratching your head and asking
yourself, what’s the difference between Ultimate
Spiderman and Amazing Spiderman. Well…Basically,
Ultimate Spiderman is the new Coke while Amazing
Spiderman is the classic coke. Ultimate Spiderman reinvents spiderman
for the new readers or for people who saw the movie
but is afraid to try the comics because of its 40+
years of history. I’m not saying that Amazing
Spiderman is bogged down with history or something
coz Marvel comics fixed this problem with this book.
Now the only difference between the two books is in
Ultimate Spiderman, Peter Parker is still in high school
and was just bitten by a radioactive spider. While
in Amazing Spiderman, Peter Parker has been married
with his high school sweetheart Mary Jane Watson but
unfortunately they’re having marital problems
lately. BOTH books are very entertaining!
Anyhoo, Coming Home is the first writing gig of Babylon
5 creator Straczynski for Marvel comics. At first,
the book seems like a typical superhero slugfest between
spiderman and his new foe but that changes in the last
chapter of the book…..REALLY! So I’m telling
you now, BUY THE BOOK coz the ending of this book is
a definite shocker!!!!
