How does Aadhar card works

The data is collected by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a statutory authority established in January 2009 by the Government of India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology , under the provisions of the Aadhar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, benefits and services) Act, 2016 1.

As Gulf News exclusively reported on March 30, Dr Ajay Bhushan Pandey, CEO, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), said in a telephone interview from New Delhi that instead of Aadhar , the departments could get a declaration from the NRI that, being an NRI, he or she was not eligible for Aadhar card.
Take your documents of address and identity proof (original or photocopies attested by a gazetted officer) along with Aadhar enrolment form and go to any nearby authorised Aadhar enrolment centre or you can go to any of the enrolment camp authorised by UIDAI anywhere in India.
If you haven’t used your Aadhar in any transaction, like linking it to bank account or PAN, for three years continuously , it can become inactive, as per the UIDAI helpline and officials at an Aadhar enrolment centre.
